**RadioRanger** ("we," "us," "our," or "Company")

RadioRanger is a reference guide for amateur radio enthusiasts. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we operate. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices.

 

**Core Principle:** RadioRanger is designed as a reference book, not a social platform. We do not track users, collect personal information, or build user profiles.

- **No account creation required** - RadioRanger works without user accounts

- **No personal information** - We don't collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other identifiers

- **No usage tracking** - We don't track which pathways you view or how long you spend in the app

- **No device identifiers** - We don't collect IDFA, UUID, or other device identifiers for tracking

- **No location data** - We don't access or collect your location

- **No analytics** - We don't use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar services

- **No advertising network data** - We don't share data with ad networks

 

### 2.2 Data We Collect Locally (On Your Device Only)

- **Starred items** - When you star a pathway or resource, this is stored **only on your device** using SwiftData

- **App preferences** - Appearance settings (light/dark mode) stored locally

- **No cloud sync** - Your starred items are never uploaded to our servers

 

### 2.3 Automatic Technical Information

We collect minimal technical information **only to maintain app functionality**:

- **Crash reports** (optional) - If the app crashes, you can choose to send us a crash report

- **App performance** - Basic, non-identifying performance metrics to ensure stability

 

**Note:** These are optional and fully under your control. You can disable them in app settings.

## 3. How We Use Your Data

 

We use locally-stored data **only to**:

- Display your starred items when you open the app

- Remember your appearance preferences

- Improve overall app stability and performance

 

**We do not:**

- Use your data for any purpose other than app functionality

### 4.1 Local Storage

- All starred items and preferences are stored **exclusively on your device**

- Data is encrypted using iOS's built-in encryption

- Data is never transmitted to our servers

 

### 4.2 Crash Reports

- If you choose to send a crash report, it is sent to our secure servers

- Crash reports contain **only technical information** (no personal data)

- Crash reports are used **only to fix bugs**

- You can delete your data anytime by uninstalling the app

RadioRanger has **minimal third-party integrations**:

 

### 5.1 Apple App Store & Privacy

RadioRanger respects Apple's privacy-first approach to app distribution:

 

**What Apple Collects (Anonymously):**

- Download and installation statistics

- Aggregate crash reports (only if you choose to send them)

- General performance metrics (battery, memory, responsiveness)

- Device type and iOS version (used for compatibility, not user identification)

 

**What We (The Developer) See:**

- Aggregate download/installation counts only

- Anonymous performance summaries

- Zero access to user identities, device identifiers, or behavior patterns

 

**Privacy by Design:** We cannot identify who uses RadioRanger, how you use it, or any personal information about you. Your activity is completely private—we only see total counts and technical diagnostics.

 

**Our Privacy Commitment:** RadioRanger is built in full alignment with Apple's privacy-first philosophy. We follow Apple's App Privacy guidelines strictly and request only essential permissions for core app functionality.

 

### 5.2 External Links

- The app includes links to external websites (ARRL, RepeaterBook, etc.)

- When you tap these links, you leave RadioRanger and are subject to their privacy policies

- RadioRanger is not responsible for third-party websites

## 6. Your Rights & Control

 

You have complete control over your data:

 

### 6.1 Access & Delete

- All your data is stored on your device

- You can view starred items anytime in the Star tab

- To delete all your data, simply uninstall the app

 

### 6.2 No Data Requests

- We don't have your personal information on our servers

- We cannot provide data exports because no data is collected

- Your data exists only on your device

 

### 6.3 Do Not Track

- RadioRanger respects the "Do Not Track" signal

- We do not enable tracking by default

- You cannot opt-in to tracking (it's not available)

## 7. Children's Privacy

 

RadioRanger is appropriate for all ages. We:

- Do not knowingly collect data from children under 13

- Do not require account creation (so age verification isn't needed)

- Follow COPPA guidelines by design (no data collection)

 

If you are under 13, you can use RadioRanger with a parent or guardian's permission.

California residents have specific privacy rights:

 

- **Right to Know** - You can request what data we have about you (it's none - we don't collect personal data)

- **Right to Delete** - Your data is on your device only; delete it by uninstalling the app
